Man of the Day ~ Luke Bryan

Inspired by one of the most fun concerts I've ever been to, which happened to be last night, Friday's Man of the Day is Luke Bryan. This down home country boy grew up in southern Georgia and boy do I love that twang! At the show last night, he belted out song after song that I love, most of which he wrote himself. He seemed like such a fun-loving, happy go lucky guy, that danced around the stage and did an amazing job working the crowd. He squeezed hearts as he sang Do I and made us smile and dance as he sang Country Man and All My Friends Say. However, I'd have to say that my favorite moment was when he performed a cover of Metallica's Enter Sandman. What song could have been more appropriate smack dab in the middle of Hokie Country???

On top of his great looks (have you seen those beautiful teeth???) and stellar voice, Luke is a genuine sweetheart. He married his college girlfriend in 2006 and they had a son, Thomas, in 2008. He's a great family guy with solid roots. He grew up helping his dad with his peanut and fertilizer business. He even came home for a bit after college and worked again for his father's company. But, everyone recognized his talent and sent him packing for Nashville. I'm sure glad they did! But, I'm also glad that he has those solid roots that inspire the lyrics he writes that are the epitome of small town, break your back, hard working individuals from small town America. This guys knows where we come from!

So ladies, take a moment today to pop that Luke Bryan cd into the player and enjoy that fine country voice. And while you're listening, look at his pictures in the cd jacket. I'll bet they'll bring a smile to your face... I know they do mine!

Man of the Day ~ Henry Cavill

What girl doesn't love a good looking man??? I mean seriously, as we grow up, we dream of our prince charming. And, let's be honest, were any of the princes in our dreams unattractive? The answer would be no. As hot blooded American females, we're taught from a young age to appreciate the beauty of a gorgeous man. Don't get me wrong, I know that looks aren't (or rather, shouldn't be) number one. I've fallen madly in love with men for their personalities, backgrounds, love of Jesus, etc. But, I fully admit that the sight of a hot man gets this girl's pheromones stirring.

So, for myself and my friends that love men as much as I do, this is going to be the "fun" part of my blog where I present a gorgeous stud that sends my head spinning. Today's Man of the Day is Henry Cavill.

Some of you may ask, who is Henry Cavill? Well, I developed a love for him as I rolled through two entire seasons of The Tudors on dvd in less than a week. (Side note - that is an AWESOME show! If you've never seen it, you're missing out!) I just recently finished the third season and my love for Henry Cavill, who plays Charles Brandon the Duke of Suffolk, is still going strong.

Henry was also in the films The Count of Monte Cristo and Tristan & Isolde, along with other films that I've never heard of, therefore I deemed them too unpopular to mention. He also auditioned (and was Stephenie Meyer's choice) for the roll of Edward in Twilight. But, by the time they started filming, Henry was 24 and thought to be too old to portray a character that was supposed to be 17. That's not the only role that Robert Pattinson snagged from him. He also was a fan favorite to play Cedric in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, but the role instead went to Rob P.

Rumor is that he's got the main part in a feature film called War of the Gods that's set to release later this year or next. If so, I can guarantee that I'll be first in line! I do hope that we'll be seeing a lot more of Mr. Cavill. Because needless to say, this man is F-I-N-E!
